Making Sure Your Outsourcing Project Does Not Fail

In spite of the ever growing number of projects outsourced there still are some that are not so successful. As one of those who may have had an unpleasant experience you may be trying to fathom what really happened. As a prospective outsourcer you may look into the causes too, so that you can avoid the pitfalls.
First of all we need to remind ourselves that there really are some very marked cross-cultural differences and it is because of this that a particular outsourcing project may be misunderstood or misinterpreted. This is one of the major problems faced when outsourcing, because the service provider is unable to fathom the work philosophy of the outsourcing firm as a result of which they cannot work well together.

If the corporate cultures are not aligned there may be some very series barriers preventing effortless and efficient exchanges between the two parties.
So too with the national culture which has an effect on everything. You need to understand it in order to approach the situation successfully and avoid a whole number of difficulties.
In order to steer clear of such a situation one must first be sure they understand the various cross-cultural differences and assess them to make sure they are compatible with one’s own philosophy.
The person or company outsourcing the work must actually pay a visit to the site of the outsourcing and meet up with the team they will be entrusting their work to.
It would be to the advantage of both parties if a smaller scale model project could first be carried out. This would give the service buyer, and the service provider, an opportunity to better understand how the two teams could pool in their resources and work together.
